Attendance Counts!
Attendance Counts Info.

Reminder: Students have 3 days to bring their excuse in after being absent.

Did you know that studentsĀ are considered "chronically absent" if they miss 18 or more days of school in one school year, even if the absences are excused? Our schools are graded on a statewide report card, and one of the grading categories is attendance.

You may check your child's number of absences in the PowerSchool Parent Portal anytime.

Please email admin@cherokeek12.org if you need your login information for the parent portal.

New This Year: The FOCUS Act

From Superintendent Mike Welsh:

Cherokee County Schools would like to thank everyone in advance for their cooperation with the new FOCUS Act and our revised Wireless Communication Device Policy. Students will not be allowed to use wireless communication devices of any type during the school day. This includes phones, watches, iPads, and any other communication device. Devices are not allowed to be powered on or used in any way throughout the school day, including break, lunch, and class changes. We realize this is a change in habit, and we understand that some are concerned, but we believe this law and our policy are in the best interest of student learning. Students may have phones at school, but they must be powered off and stored in a locker, vehicle, or other place designated by the school.

Again, we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
